@Align Gallery: "An exhibition series showcasing the rich and colorful history of the Latino community, which will be held on September 12th, October 10th, and October 24th." All these event are fundraiser for The Roybal Foundation.
Roybal Foundation Presents with Align Gallery located in Highland Park is proud to honor Latino History Month by showcasing a series of various Latino and Latina activists and artists throughout September and October. Community can be achieved in many ways and is more than just coincidental proximity. Using art as a conduit for unity, Align Gallery plans to utilize their sacred space to display the creations of many different and talented minds of the Latino community. The goal is to gather a diverse group of people with various cultural backgrounds and unite them all under the banner of celebration and art.
Align’s opening group-show premieres during the NELA art walk on Saturday, September 12, 2015. Titled “Podiums y Hacemos” (We Can And We Will), the event will showcase the work of Margaret Garcia, Barbara Carrasco, Pola Lopez, Lili Bernard, Nychole Owens, Donna Bates, Laura Lacamara, Mayte Escobar, Miriam Jackson, Bonnie Lambert, Lilia Ramirez, Loushana Roybal-Rose, Daniel Ramirez and Joseph “Nuke” Montalvo. Each artist will contribute their own unique piece(s) to the show, displaying the unity within diversity of Latino culture.
On Saturday, October 10, 2015, the gallery event “Man Of The People” will feature the work of artists Wayne Healy, Robert Delgado, Leo Limon, John M. Valadez, J. Micheal Walker, Oscar Magallanes, Javi Herrera, Nery Gabriel Lemus, Jimmy Centeno, and Loushana Roybal Rose
On October 24, 2005, the inspirational Edward R. Roybal passed away leaving behind a legacy of change that will forever be remembered. In traditional Dias de las Muertos fashion, Align will celebrate his life achievements on Saturday, October 24, 2015 by hosting a fundraiser for the Roybal Foundation which encourages and fosters the importance of community through art, health, equality and awareness. A memorial alter for both my grandparents Edward and Lucille and will be displayed along with a family, friends and the community celebrating their remarkable lives. Also the 24th is a very symbolic day for Congressman Roybal because it was the day transitioned and have made this day an annual memorial.

Join us for a free reception to the "Man of the People" Art Show at El Tranquilo Gallery at the Placita Olvera!
"Man of the People" brings over 20 artists together who were inspired by the late Congressman Edward R. Roybal. Their impressive art is relevant and tells story. The art show will be at El Tranquilo Gallery located at Placita Olvera.
This amazing and moving show runs until January 30th.

The Roybal Legacy Exhibit
The Roybal Legacy exhibit educates and inspires future generations to strive for excellence. The exhibit contains archives featuring the challenges faced by Lucille and Edward R. Roybal and their lifetime achievements which incorporates their journey to promote civil rights in the U.S. Through its historic photographic collection and art work, the exhibit reveals the passion and hard work that lead to the inclusion of a diverse people in mainstream society.
Using the arts as media, the Legacy Exhibit educates and inspires future generations to strive for excellence. The exhibit contains archives featuring the challenges and achievements to promote civil rights, work that lead to the inclusion of a diverse people in mainstream society and the building of healthier communities.
The Roybal Foundation offers the Legacy Exhibit as a traveling exhibit presenting the life’s work of Lucille and Edward R. Roybal to schools and interested organizations.
