Jorge Lambrinos

Jorge Lambrinos has acquired considerable experience in government, politics, and policy as Chief of Staff to former Congressman Edward R. Roybal.  He was also the Director of the House Select Committee on Aging (was the first Hispanic to staff a full committee in the U.S. House of representatives). These positions provided him with expertise in management and budgeting.

Lambrinos is a veteran and graduate of the U.S. Army War College. He earned a Bronze Star while participating in combat during Desert Shield/Desert Storm and provide Comfort. He also served as the Army’s representative on the U.S. Ambassador to Turkey Refugee Task Force to offer advice and resources on the repatriation of Iraqi refugees returning home after the war.

Upon retirement, Lambrinos helped the Congressman to establish the Edward R. Roybal Institute on Gerontology at Cal State LA to provide gerontology training to students interested in pursuing a career in aging. He served as the first Director of the Gerontology Institute. The Institute was subsequently moved to the University of Southern California, and He became the Director there.

He continues to be involved in community activities. He has chaired numerous communities or government-based organizations such chair of the City of Pasadena Commission on Accessibility and Disability and chair the housing board of Villa Esperanza Services. He also served as a California delegate to White House conferences on Aging.
